National Leader Heydar Aliyev's 100th anniversary, Day of Restoration of Independence and Victory Day were celebrated in San Jose, California

National Leader Heydar Aliyev's 100th anniversary, Day of Restoration of Independence and Victory Day were celebrated in San Jose, California, with a concert program performed by Almakhanim Ahmadli, singer, soloist of Azerbaijan Television, winner of the 6th "Mugham" Television Competition. Members of the Azerbaijani community living in California, compatriots working in various companies in Silicon Valley, journalists, as well as representatives of friendly communities participated in the event held by the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles and Azerbaijan Cultural Society of Northern California.

After the national anthem of Azerbaijan, the participants of the event commemorated the Great Leader and our compatriots who were martyred during the Patriotic War with a minute of silence. During her speech, Aynur Aghayeva, the president of Azerbaijan Cultural Society of Northern California, spoke about three significant events in the history of Azerbaijan, the restoration of independence and achievements of our Republic, the role of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the state building, restoration and strengthening of modern Azerbaijan and informed the guests about the Victory Day dedicated to ensuring the territorial integrity of our country with the liberation of the occupied lands of Azerbaijan as a result of the Patriotic War in 2020.

Consul General of Azerbaijan Ramil Gurbanov mentioned that Azerbaijan, which regained its independence in 1991, faced difficulties, but as a result of the successful domestic and foreign policy of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, who returned to power in 1993, our country was saved from great troubles, and solid foundations were laid for the development of our country in all areas. He emphasized that the further strengthening of independent Azerbaijan built on these foundations and with the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief President Ilham Aliyev, the liberation of its lands from occupation in 2020 by the Victorious Azerbaijan Army, and the full restoration of our sovereignty in 2023 historical justice was achieved.

An exhibition of pictures was organized at the event, about the life of Heydar Aliyev and the important role he played in the history of Azerbaijan. Popular folk songs like "Sari Galin", "Garagila" were performed by our young artist Almakhanim Ahmadli and her performance was highly appreciated by the Azerbaijani community. After that, Azerbaijani folk dances were performed by community members and the Azerbaijani Dance Ensemble consisting of children. The guests tasted the delicious dishes and sweets of Azerbaijani cuisine, and got acquainted with the book “Victory Road”. The event was met with great interest.
